Sound familiar?
Most people who come to us have lived with at least three of these for over six months.
If you nodded at three or more, a consultation is worth your time.
The Ayurvedic view
Recurring pain deserves a careful assessment of the condition, daily routine, movement and overall health.
From an Ayurvedic perspective, patterns of pain and stiffness may be assessed in relation to Vata, digestion, sleep, movement and daily routine. This traditional framework is considered alongside physical examination and available medical reports.
Pain can have many causes. Existing medicines should not be stopped without advice from the prescribing clinician. The consultation focuses on whether Ayurvedic supportive care is appropriate and whether further investigation or referral is needed.
When clinically suitable, the doctor may recommend therapies such as local oil applications or fomentation, together with movement, diet or routine guidance. The plan and duration depend on the individual assessment, and outcomes vary.
What we do at the clinic
After examination, the doctor selects from these classical procedures and sets the number of sittings.
Warm medicated oil held over the lower back inside a herbal dough ring, so it soaks deep into the lumbar muscles and discs.
The same oil-pooling technique over the knee joint, to reduce stiffness, creaking and pain on movement.
Oil retention over the neck and upper spine for cervical stiffness built up from desk work and phone use.
Fomentation with a hot poultice of medicinal leaves and herbs to release muscular tightness and improve circulation.
Controlled therapeutic heat applied precisely at the pain point. Many patients report noticeable change within the first few sittings.
Leech therapy or wet cupping to clear stagnation in stubborn inflammatory pain that has not settled with other measures.
Who will treat you
BAMS · Ayurvedic Physician, IDV Ayurveda Clinic
Every case starts with the doctor personally — pulse examination, history, and a look at your work posture, digestion and sleep. The therapy plan is written only after that, and the doctor reviews your progress through the course.
Therapies are carried out by trained therapists at the clinic under supervision, using oils and formulations prepared to classical standards.
What happens after you book
Nadi Pariksha, physical examination and a review of any scans or reports you already have.
The doctor tells you which therapies you need, how many sittings, and what it will cost — before you start.
Daily or alternate-day sittings of 30–45 minutes at the clinic. You go home the same day.
Individualised food, movement and daily-routine guidance, with follow-up review after the course.

Before you book
No. Kati Basti, Janu Basti and Patrapotali Sweda are warm oil and heat therapies — most patients find them relaxing. Agnikarma involves brief, precisely applied heat and any discomfort lasts only moments.
It depends on the diagnosis, severity, duration and your response to care. The doctor explains the recommended number of sittings and expected cost after assessment.
Not on your own. Bring your prescriptions to the consultation. The doctor will tell you what can continue alongside the therapy and what should be reviewed with your treating physician.
Results differ from person to person, and recurrence can occur. The doctor may advise follow-up care, movement, posture, diet or referral depending on your condition.
These conditions can be assessed at the clinic. Bring your MRI, X-ray and current prescriptions so the doctor can determine whether Ayurvedic care is reasonable or whether referral is more appropriate.
No. Pain therapies are out-patient. You come in for the sitting and go home the same day.
Consultation and therapy charges are told to you clearly before anything begins. There are no hidden add-ons during the course.
